The North Face Backpack Bivy: Super Light Shelter for One
Backpacking season is fast approaching, The North Face Backpack Bivy could serve you well. This super light, 2 lb. 3 season backpack bivy may be just the ticket to lower your pack weight for you next backpacking trip. Made for the solo packpacker, or those that would like a lightweight option and don’t like to share a tent. The North Face has created this waterproof and twp-poled bivy for those that love the light weight of a traditional sack style bivy, but the wiggle room of a traditional tent. Useful in all types of foul conditions, this bivy is made of HyVent® DT waterproof material, yet remains breathable. Also features a fully taped bathtub style floor to further aid in repelling water. The two poles keep the shell off of you during the night, and provide ample rigidity in high winds and rain. The Backpack Bivy also boasts easy-to-use Ball Cap clips on brow pole ends – poles are thin, light, yet strong.

For those of you that don’t like to unzip the door to see what the weather is like, this North Face backpack bivy also has a clear PU window near your head to check the atmospheric conditions without letting in a cold draft. The North Face MSRP for the backpack bivy is $199. However with a little online sleuthing I was able to find one for nearly $80 off the retail price. If you need a smaller lightweight tent options, or are in need of an upgrade of replacement, check it out alone with reviews at The North Face.

This tent would be an excellent addition to my hunting pack in case you ever get stranded in the bush overnight and need a quick and lightweight shelter.
This would be great on a weekend fishing trip back in the bush at those hard to reach special fishing lakes when you dont want alot of weight in your pack.
The North Face Tent looks to very aerodynamic for those windy days or nights.
