Trek Fuel EX Mountain Bike: The Ultimate Trail Bike Quick Review

Trek has improved the Fuel EX mountain bike line over previous years, some cosmetic changes may be hard to notice, however the little tweaks and improvements are under the hood, so to speak. The Trek Fuel EX 9 for 2011 comes out with various improvements, and a full range of components throughout the lineup allowing you to pay customize as much or as little as you’d like. The new set up weighs in at an average 22 lbs. before you choose your pedals. Not bad at all for a full suspension mountain bike. Some of the features below.

Full floater rear fork, for a more dynamic suspension. ABP Convert allows a 142×12 thru-axle to be swapped for a 135x5mm setup with no fuss and no visit to the bike shop.

EVO link – for solid link between rear sty and bike frame, no wobble from the joint. Pro peddal feature, allows you to adjust your rear shock stiffness for climbing vs. descents.

Carbon Armor – for protection under the frame. You can see the armor attached above, on the fram right above the Trek logo. OCL Mountain technology – means a tougher carbon on all full suspension Trek Bikes.
Trek seems to have found a winning combination in the new Trek Fuel EX 9 series for 2011, lets just hope they build enough of them this year to satisfy the demand. Let us know you experience with the Fuel EX series or another Trek mtn bike.
